Life Sustaining Ceremonies & Rituals

For people and communities to come into fullness, to provide a spiritual context for life, to ground in ancestral life ways and connect to the natural rhythm of the world, we celebrate the changes of the seasons, new birth, adolescence to adulthood, marriage, men’s and women’s connection and once again honor the wisdom years of our elders until death do us part.

This way our communities are nourished and the

threads within the tapestry of life connect to the world. By weaving our lives together with the world we live in life’s primordial nature.

“The focus here is not on ritual itself, but on opening up something in hearts and spirits that has been locked away so long that individuals can barely remember the source.”

~ Malidoma Somé

BAPTISM is the ritual for children to introduce them to the world, to receive protection as they grow and to weave them into the tapestry of the community.

Deanna performs baptisms in the area of which the child is living. Contact us for guidance and more information.

INITIATION INTO ADULTHOOD: As ritual leaders for Initiation, Deanna and Gary guide young men and women to create a village and support for the intimate transformation into adulthood. This vital and timeless ritual returns to modern culture, to help guide young people to their purpose and relationship to the whole of life. This ritual can lead a person to their heart’s true calling.

They offer pre-wedding council to prepare a couple for this lifelong commitment.

OTHER CEREMONIES: Full Circle Living is the ceremonial aspect of the Mesa Life Project, an intentional community with its roots in ancestral shamanic tradition. Gary and Deanna preside over the seasonal ceremonies to honor the land and time of year where Deanna and Gary reside. In addition, they host monthly community fires, as Firekeepers for the Sacred Fire Community. Anyone of any religion and tradition is welcome to participate in these offerings.

Life Sustaining Ceremonies...

To bring individuals and a community into their fullness, to provide a spiritual context for life, rooted in ancestral tradition and connected to the natural world, one must celebrate the changes of the seasons, new birth, adolescence to adulthood, marriage, men’s and women’s connection to each other and to the conservative force of nature. We are then able to once again honor the wisdom years of our elders until death do us part. This is a way we provide nourishment to our communities and ensure that the threads within the tapestry of life connect to the world. It’s in weaving our lives together with the world that we live within life’s primordial nature.
